High-Tech Hydrophobic Coatings

High-Tech Hydrophobic Coatings supply a range of exterior building coatings that are  and is designed to reduce energy costs and protect your home.

Renotec is a range of super hydrophobic coatings designed to reduce energy costs and protect your home. Join High-Tech Hydrophobic Coatings' Satified Customers Today. We service the domestic and commercial markets Nationally providing a number of external coatings that are fantastic for solving all of the common building problems such as damp, heat loss, premature surface deterioration, mould, lichen, moss growth as well as discolouration affecting the aesthetics of your home.

The products we use are ‘super Hydrophobic’ meaning they are ‘self-cleaning’ due to the lotus effect that occurs when water hits the surface whether it be a façade or a roof the water will repel from the surface as opposed to absorbing into it and keeping it dry and weather resistant for many years.

Super Hydrophobic

Energy Saving

A range of super hydrophobic coatings designed to reduce energy costs and protect your home.

Tests have shown that a damp content of 5% in a plain brick wall, for example, can lower the insulation performance by up to 50%, especially where cavity wall insulation has been installed. Porous building materials, such as natural stone and brick normally have good insulating properties as they have air filled cavities, which offer low thermal conductivity, but only when they are dry.

Super Hydrophobic

A surface is considered super hydrophobic if a water droplet beads up (with a contact angle greater than 150° and the droplets can slide aware from the surface readily (it has a small contact angle hysteresis). Super hydrophobic surfaces repel water, causing it to form beads because it is more attracted to itself than the surface. This means water will run off the surface making it extremely difficult to wet.
This is known as the ‘lotus effect’ due to its similarity to the lotus leaf but is also seen on duck feathers and butterfly wings.
Mineral surfaces like roof tiles which have been coated with ProPERLA Water Repellent will respond in the same way – water will form droplets and won’t penetrate the substrate.
